We Can’t Guarantee Your Safety

As a Jewish activist who has attended numerous demonstrations in Toronto over the years,  I've heard this statement from police "We can't guarantee your safety." all too often.

It's a dangerous way of thinking. The premise can be legitimate. If there are thousands of rowdy demonstrators protesting something in an area and just a few people who wish to counter their protest, there might be a case where the police might institute that policy of not allowing those few people to counter protest because the police would not be able to protect them from a massive crowd.

The problem with this is twofold.

First, where does one draw the line? If the bigger crowd is rowdy and explosive (ie. violent) then they will always have the upper hand. All one has to do is threaten violence when demonstrating and they will de facto be the only ones permitted to protest.

Second, it gives the police an easy way to abrogate their responsibility to protect the public. They can pick and choose which people to protect and which people must lose their ability for free speech. Of course their policies come from our political leaders who give them direction.

In Toronto, Canada, as is the case with most cities in the world, there are laws pertaining to protests. Protestors/demonstrators cannot trespass for example. In many cases a permit is required. Stopping traffic is usually illegal. Most important is they must be peaceful. We've all witnessed many rallies that occur all around us where all of these laws are broken, time and time again without any consequences.

In 2021 during our Covid lockdown in downtown Toronto city hall, tens of thousands of pro-'Palestinian' demonstrators protested and took over most of our downtown core. At the time our mayor instituted laws prohibiting gatherings of more than 8 people. They also insisted on social distancing (minimum 6 feet between people was the rule). Worse still was the violence committed by these brutal protesters. There were many peaceful, counter protestors who were violently injured. I was there and witnessed the entire shameful and scary event. I was part of a small group of pro-Israel counter demonstrators. Soon we found ourselves sandwiched between 2 groups of 'pro-Palestinian' protestors numbered in the thousands. Their group grew exponentially within minutes as Arabs from as far as London Ontario were being bussed in every 10 minutes. A thin line of police separated the groups. At the start of the protest, the cops put a steel barrier between us. But later the 'pro-Palis' broke the barrier and surrounded us. I asked a cop why are you allowing them to surround us? He answered that there weren't enough police. I told him to call in more. I saw the fear in his eyes. They were scared. In short order they escorted us out of there to safety where we all quickly dispersed. We had to hide any identifiable decals of who we were. (Ie. no Israeli flags, kippot, etc.) There were no consequences for the 'pro-Palestinian' protestors. Not a single arrest. No comment from our mayor, city councillors or the mainstream media. Unless you were downtown at the time, you wouldn't have even known about it.

I posted about this when it happened: Leon's: The World is Upside Down  I realized then and there that our society in the West was in big trouble. While most of us were asleep at the wheel, Islamists had taken over our country. Our government gave them a pass. Instead of doing their job and keeping us safe (a prime directive for any government), they let the dangerous crowd rule the day.

Today things have only gotten worse. One can see dangerous protests from Islamists also known as 'pro-Palestinians' who's chants are always 'From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free' (free of Jews) happening throughout the Western world. Sad to say that some of the few places one doesn't see this happening is in a few totalitarian states like Russia, China or North Korea. How pathetic has the world become if we need to follow their example?

Today a friend sent me this short clip here (you might need Twitter to watch it) of a righteous man from Iran who demanded to protest freely in Toronto against the Islamist crowd who have been illegally protesting every single week at our city hall at least since the Oct 7 massacre committed by Hamas in Israel. This is what pushed me to write this post. The police refused to let this man protest with a Canadian flag no less because.... wait for it....

'We can't guarantee your safety'

But we can guarantee the safety of the other, thuggish Islamists side. We can guarantee only their right to free speech.

I recently went to a protest around the corner from where I live. It was held at a highway overpass (hwy 401) where there have been 'pro-Palestinian' protests occurring there weekly. That day they didn't show up. I'm glad they weren't there. I don't need to expose their vile hate to my daughter who joined me. What was noticable were the lack of police. A couple of cop cars parked nearby for a few minutes and then quickly left. They know that we are always peaceful when we demonstrate. We don't block traffic or hang signs on the highway illegally. Mostly we don't threaten others! Here's a short clip of that event:

Me and my daughter Melanie at that demonstration:

We are going down a very dangerous road. The fight is on and the silver lining of Oct 7 is that it has woken many of us out of our stupor when it comes to defending Jews from Jew hatred. We can't afford to be silent any longer. Our grandchildren and society at large are at stake. It's obvious (to me at least) that we cannot rely on our politicians to enforce the law and keep us safe. Most of the current government throughout the western world have completely abrogated their responsibility. Instead they close their eyes and ears to us since we are a small minority in the hopes that we go away and eventually disappear.

We won't. We never have.

Israel is doing a fine job of defeating her enemies, but what about us?

Israel went through hell recently and continues to suffer the consequences.

But I have faith that Israelis with G-d’s help will wipe out Hamas (they are doing so at great pace currently) and deal with all of their enemies.

You might recall that hours after the Oct 7 pogrom, when the PM of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu announced that Israel is at war with Hamas in Gaza, pretty much the entire world predicted a disaster for Israel. Estimates for dead or injured IDF soldiers who would eventually have to enter the crowded cities within the Gaza strip were in the tens of thousands per month!
Those who support Israel, like myself, were very concerned. I myself was hoping that Israel would turn the entire Gaza strip into rubble via bombs dropped from planes. I didn't want to risk one Israeli life dealing with concealed weapons, booby traps and tunnels.
Yet here we are, 2 plus months into the war and the IDF are doing amazing things. The 'brave' Hamas fighters are surrendering in record numbers. Here is a recent photograph of a bunch of these overweight fighters. Apparently they are not starving after all...

Of course many Israeli soldiers and civilians have lost their precious lives and many continue to suffer. But the casualty rate has not come close to the many dire predictions. Hopefully in good time, Hamas and their supporters (most Arabs in the Middle East) will be taken care of (if you know what I mean).

But we in the diaspora are not holding our own. I’m afraid that I lack any great faith to push back from the myriad antisemites that confront us daily.

There are some glimmers of hope for sure. I am thrilled to hear of many of my friends who until recently have been mostly silent on the war against antisemites of which there are plenty.
From individuals to public and private institutions including our government, there is no shortage of people who hate us. It took the UN months to admit that innocent Israeli women and children were raped, beheaded, burned alive and tortured in the most gruesome ways imaginable, let alone publicly condemn it.

Just as the pogrom on Oct 7 woke up some of us who stand on the right side of history, that is, with Israel - it also woke up many haters on the wrong side, against Israel and of course against Jewish people everywhere.

Israel being a Jewish state, does not suffer the kind of antisemitism that we do outside of Israel. To be sure, hers is of a most serious, existential threat. Her Muslim enemies want to wipe Israel off the map. If you can't see that they absolutely mean what they say, then you are beyond help.

Whereas in the diaspora our enemies are mostly not committed suicide bombers or beheaders just yet. There are some obvious exceptions like 9/11. But we have been under assault daily in just about every community in the West for forever. But it's getting nasty out there. To those who live in my city (Toronto) for example, think back 20 or so years. Can you recall seeing 'Palestinian' or Hamas flags on our streets throughout our beautiful city? On every single university campus (who's presidents are complicit in their solidarity with their Jew hate)? At multiple city halls? There has been a pro-Palestinian demonstration every single weekend at my city hall since Oct 7 and G-d help you if you try to run a counter demonstration there. I live in a mostly Jewish suburb of Toronto and just a couple of hours ago I saw some people carrying large Pali flags towards a bridge over our main highway (401). My Jewish friend who lives downtown told me how only recently police had to surround his building in order to protect the residents from anti-Israel (anti-Jewish) demonstrators. This evokes images of Kristallnacht in Germany in 1938, does it not?

All this was unheard of just a decade or so before. I'm not saying that it wasn't simmering but it surely wasn't as overt as it is now. Thankfully my late Holocaust survivor parents aren't here to witness it.

Although we are small in number compared to our detractors, we must speak out now more than ever. In fact because (I like the Hebrew word 'dafka' even better than 'because') we are the minority, we are obligated to be more vociferous than they are, right?

Now is the time to not hold back. Speak your mind out loud and repeatedly. Show your face. Go to rallies in support of Israel and to put pressure to free the hostages. If you don't, apolitical folks in the West will not speak up for you. They will most likely speak up for the loudest voices they can hear.

My Wife and Daughter's union at work donated $50,000 to Gaza agencies (HAMAS)

Both my wife and daughter work for the Canadian federal government. As such they are forced to join one of the large Canadian unions in Canada, called PSAC (Public Service Alliance of Canada) with over 200,000 members. If you work for the federal government or its agencies, you must join this union and pay union dues which are automatically deducted from your pay cheque.

The other day they were notified that PSAC decided to donate $50,000 to Gaza agencies via the following email:

https://psacunion.ca/psac-donates-50000-humanitarian-aid-gaza

If you click on the link above you will see the following statement:

"PSAC has allocated $25,000 each to two humanitarian agencies in Gaza: the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees."

The Palestinian Red Crescent has been known to sneak weapons and terrorists in and out of Gaza and other Arab enclaves in Israel.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency has had members who belong to Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PA and other enemies of Israel. Their mission is to keep those Arabs who call themselves Palestinians, refugees as long as they can.

There are many documented incidents that prove that both organizations cannot be trusted. I picked just one article to prove this:

https://www.reuters.com/article/middleeastCrisis/idUSL05686115/

On top of this, everyone knows (or should know) that any aid sent to Gaza for the citizens of Gaza will be appropriated by terrorist groups, like Hamas, who control the area.

The irony is that neither organization is registered with Canada's federal tax agency (CRA) as a registered charity in Canada.

Can you imagine working for an employer who deducts your wages in order to help fund people who want you dead?

Why is PSAC donating union dollars to organizations outside of Canada that have nothing to do with Canada or federal employees?PSAC should be focussing its efforts on benefiting its members. How does donating union funds to UNRWA help its union members?

At the very least if they insist on doing what they did, they should have donated an equal amount to the Israeli Red Cross. Hundreds of thousands of Israeli civilians had to run away from their homes near the Gaza strip. They are living day to day and suffering. Where are the donations to them?

And finally, who asked PSAC to do this? Did they run it by their members first? Nope!

My wife and daughter both wrote to the union to complain.

For what it's worth, we will notify the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Bnai Brith about this. It would be nice if the union PSAC was sued.

Here is my daughter's excellent letter to her union at work:

Hello PSAC,

I am highly offended and frankly disgusted with the news release that you are donating $50000 to Gaza agencies which are actually run by Hamas, a recognized terrorist organization.

On October 7th 1400 Israelis were burned, raped, murdered and kidnapped from Hamas. Where was your offer to donate to the Israeli families? If you are siding with Gaza, you are openly stating you antisemitic. I will not go into the history of Israel and the politics involved in this unless I need to. The fact is there was a ceasefire until Hamas broke it and killed several hundred Israelis. Israel has a right to defend itself and will continue to demand the release of every hostage including a 10 month old baby.

I am actually sickened by the action the union is taking. As a Jew, I feel that you have only isolated myself and probably the rest of any other Jews that are part of this union. How dare you take our members money and give it away without even a vote on such actions? Who asked for this? Why do you have a care about what’s happening outside Canada and our union? I do not wish my union dues to be spent on any so called charitable organizations period. Should I choose to donate my personal money to any charity I’ll do that on my own accord, thanks.

Furthermore, I’d like to escalate my complaint to the highest level authority. Should this go without any resolution on my end I would like to know how I terminate my union membership as I refuse to take part of this organization that openly funds a terrorist organization and is a threat to my own people.

Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Ben Shapiro: Understanding the Dispute

I used to watch Tucker Carlson's TV show on Fox quite often because I mostly agreed with his right wing, conservative views and I appreciated his courage to take on almost any issue. His shows were often interesting. But I was careful not to idolize him as many on the right were doing. Tucker for President? Hell no!

When he finally got kicked off of Fox News his fame grew ten fold. And rightly so. He had the courage to take on the mainstream media included his bosses at Fox who made a slight Left turn years ago.

I’ve warned my friends over the years (I’m sure that some of you have been included) that Tucker is not our friend. Despite the many excellent points he’s made with my total agreement (not sending billions to Zelensky - for example), I’ve noted that he never once mentioned the brutal and constant attacks that Israel and Jews worldwide undergo. He purports to fight for the underdog but has steadfastly remained quiet when it comes to Israel. Unlike his former colleague, Hannity, Tucker has never once interviewed Bibi Netanyahu. Something is definitely up with Tucker and it's not good.

Candace Owens was another rising star on the conservative right. A very articulate, educated, pretty, young, Black woman and again an anomaly with her right wing views. She was against Black Lives Matter for example. So of course I also admired her and her courage to stand up against the crowd.

She is good friends with her wealthy and famous Black friend Kanye West. She lost my support when she defended him for his vile antisemitic remarks a while back. I blogged about Kanye and others before here: 80% of the World Does Not Like Us.  After the horror of Oct 7, sadly I feel confident in that post.

I’m not in the least surprised that he and Candace would align. Despite their few words decrying antisemitism, they both are not in love with us Jews.  They seem to be  jealous of our success and both subscribe to the belief that Jews have too much power and money. Given the right circumstances, their subliminal antisemitism will become mainstream.

I couldn’t finish watching their blathering, self serving, propaganda in this video of his interview with her that started the latest debacle. Perhaps you can.

Their main point as much as I could decipher was this:

How dare these wealthy Jews criticize American institutions like universities for not supporting Israel and in fact supporting Arabs who call themselves Palestinians (who actually compose Hamas) because those same wealthy American Jews gave lots of money to those same universities while the schools were being anti-white.

Candace danced around the issue proclaiming ignorance as to why the brilliant, religious Jew and senior editor of the show they both are on, Ben Shapiro, called her out. Her purposefully vague deflection of Ben Shapiro's 'ad hominem' attack on her is completely disingenuous. Tucker's virtue signalling is equally so.

Like I said, I didn't watch the whole video and it wouldn't surprise me that what she said about the war in Gaza that disturbed Ben Shapiro, me and many others wasn't even mentioned. So for the record, here it is:

"No government anywhere has a right to commit a genocide, ever. There is no justification for a genocide. I can't believe this even needs to be said or is even considered the least bit controversial to state."

Can you see that her statement made at this time is absolutely directed toward Israel? It sure isn't directed towards Hamas. So yes, it is indeed very controversial. It's beyond controversial. Anyone with a rational and fully functional brain would agree that Israel has an obligation to rid the world of Hamas, as quickly and efficiently as they can. The world must support Israel in her efforts. Israel has proven to have the most 'enemy friendly' army in the world. The IDF goes above and beyond the Geneva conventions in fighting wars which Israel's been forced into since her modern recreation in 1948.

In her cabal with Tucker portending to fight for free speech, and wanting to claim the higher ground with Ben Shapiro who attacked her 'without reason' with no explanation whatsoever with name calling, screams out for context.

If this is all they’ve got as a reason to attack us ‘wealthy Jews’ at a critical and polarizing time in world history when thousands of Israelis were murdered in the most horrific way, babies, mothers, rapes and kidnapping then Ben Shapiro was absolutely correct. Her remarks are disgraceful.

To be more succinct, there is a time for criticism. But now is not the time to criticize us. I say this not because I’m Jewish. I say this as a rational human being. Would you criticize a Jewish prisoner in Auschwitz if you saw him grab a rifle from a Nazi guard and shoot him in the back even if the guard  was holding hands with his son?

Now is in fact the time for the world to show us unconditional support and do so vociferously!

I’ve said this before. What happened on Oct 7 delineated a clear line. You are either with us or against us. Unlike Candace, who loves to identify as a reasonable, clear headed academic, there is no room for nuance here. (Tucker is in the same boat)

We all know ad nauseam, that it is solely Hamas that is to blame for any deaths in Gaza. So each time Hamas announces the newly made up number of deaths in Gaza or releases videos of dead or injured arab babies, the world’s ire must be directed at Hamas and the people who elected Hamas, Gazan's.

My Prime Minister is at it Again!

How many of you either know about or have seen the indescribable beheadings of innocent Israelis by  Hamas in Israel, just a few weeks ago? I'm going to guess that most of the world has either watched those videos whereby Hamas publicized their handiwork on social media realtime or at least has heard all about it.

So do you think that Justin Trudeau, my Prime Minister of Canada, knows about those disgusting beheadings?

Again I'm going to guess: Yes, he know all about them.

Yet he decided to post the following  on social media:

Is he that insensitive? Is he that dumb? For a guy who tries to be the most politically correct person on the planet, something doesn't make sense here. You might recall when he lectured a woman who used the word 'mankind' instead of his made up word 'peoplekind'!

Is it just me or do you think that at a time when the most horrific crimes against humanity were committed against a tiny minority, Jewish Israelis, in our lifetime,  just maybe now is NOT the appropriate time to brag about your son's beheading costume on Halloween?

What happened? Did he not vet this post with his highly paid staff first and if he did, would they not have suggested a different, more empathetic costume? Or just maybe his bosses want to normalize beheadings so that Hamas does not come off looking so bad after all. If so, this is exactly the way to accomplish that. If the PM's son wore a beheading costume AND his dad, the PM of Canada was so proud that he posted it on social media, how bad could it be? Oh heck, a little beheading never hurt anyone...

I often do this simple exercise. Substitute Black for Jew. If those same heinous crimes were committed to Blacks instead of Jews, I would bet you that his son would never be permitted to wear such a costume in poor taste. His disdain for Israel and Jews is evident.
After the brutal slaughter of Jews in the most horrific way, I can't see anyone wearing beheading costumes ever again, let alone the son of a leader of a Western democracy.

I am speaking on behalf of those Jews who lost their lives on that fateful day who can no longer speak. What will it take for Jewish Canadians to stop voting for him?

Add this to his long list of serious treasonous crimes that if a regular citizen like me or you committed, we'd be in prison. Add this to his numerous tasteless acts. I've blogged about his pathetic behaviour in the past. This blog post back in 2018, was titled: Thanks for the Laughs Justin.

But this is no longer funny.

The Aversion to Speak Out

After what I perceived to be the most horrific event in my lifetime that occurred on October 7 in Israel whereby thousands of innocent Israeli citizens, from new borns (some not yet even born) to elderly Holocaust survivors were murdered in the most horrific way, would change the world.

I mistakenly thought that the the world who mostly stood silent over the decades of constant attacks on my Jewish homeland would finally wake up and defend her. From Arab suicide bombers in restaurants in Tel Aviv to daily barrages of rockets that have been shot randomly at Israelis, those attacks have never stopped even for a day since the recreation of the modern state of Israel in 1948. The only break in these attacks occurred when all out wars from all of Israel's neighbours stormed in.

Surely now people will finally speak out against our enemies I hoped. Yes, many did. And I applaud them loudly and believe me, I try to thank them all. But sadly, so did many friends of our enemies. I'm sure the world has witnessed the vile behaviour of many people especially universities (both students and their administrations), governments, main stream media and many institutions who have sided with some of the most inhumane, gruesome pigs that ever crawled on this planet. It's very hard to believe that this is the case. But it clearly is.

That said, this is not my focus here.

Instead I want to bring your attention to the insidious behaviour of so many 'nice' people who refuse to speak out about what just happened.

Recently, an actor by the name of Mathew Perry died. He was famous for his comedic role in a TV show called Friends. This sad news was plastered all over the media and continues to make the rounds. I'm sure you've all heard of this news by now.

I usually listen to the radio in the mornings when I'm brushing my teeth. I listen to a Toronto station called Q107 on an FM station.

As expected, they haven't stopped reporting on the passing of the actor.

What I have yet to hear a peep however, was talk about the devastating attack from Hamas and the gruesome murder of 1400 innocent Israelis or their kidnapping of 240 Israelis who are still being held deep in the bowels of Gaza!

I'm sure that if you gave this some thought, you too can identify the unconscionable, aversion of people to speak out about this atrocity,  wherever you might live.

This is just one tiny example of what I'm talking about. I find this behaviour in particular to be very offensive. When a tragedy on a large scale happens anywhere in the world, people talk about it. That is normal human behaviour. Except when it happens to Israelis. Then it's forbidden to do so.

I'm sure that the management of many of these places have strict rules about talking about politics or religion or most controversial subjects. But what happened that day has nothing to do with politics. It wasn't controversial in the least. It was a tragedy of epic proportions and people everywhere, at the very least,  should be talking about it and learn from it.

I urge you all to speak up now. Keep the memory of the hostages alive. BRING THEM HOME! That was the message of the rally I went to yesterday at Earl Bales park in Toronto.

short video of the rally (vigil)

What happened to 1400 Israelis on October 7 can happen anywhere in the world at any point in time. Sticking your head in the ground will surely not prevent it. Simply having the courage to speak up about it now, might help prevent it. Do it!

In Times of Crises is When you Find Out Who Your True Friends Are

I submitted the following to a couple of news media in Toronto. I doubt that they publish it but hopefully they read it.

The war in Gaza is not political. I don’t care if you are on the right or left, Muslim or Jew, Conservative or Liberal. I don’t care what Bibi might have said years ago or what Smotrich said last month. In fact I don’t care what anyone said. I don’t care about the history of the Israeli-Arab conflict. I definitely don’t want to listen to any historical lectures right now, despite me being a lover of history. Sadly I’m hearing that and worse from far too many people right now.

What Hamas did was unspeakable. I’m happy that they are thrilled to advertise their heinous crimes. Unlike the Nazis who tried their best to hide them, Hamas is so deranged, they are proud of their handiwork so they share it with the world. General Eisenhower ordered US troops to photograph and video the horrors of the death camps after liberation because he knew that years later people would deny all of it. And deny it they did.

Just like this war. Already many are denying that dozens of Israeli babies had their heads chopped off.

In times of crises, that’s when you find out who your real friends are. Any sane person in the world who doesn’t see the obvious, doesn’t want to and never will.

Those protesters singing From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free (of Jews), need to be shipped off to Gaza or Iran. That’s clearly where they belong. Anyone who talks of proportionality vis a vis Israel’s response, also needs to go to there. Anyone who pressures Israel to cease their blockade of Gaza, give them food, water, electricity or aid them in any way, needs to go to there or perhaps offer their children up for beheading.

This war is no different than fighting the Nazis in WWII. We must fight to win. In war people die. Nothing we can do about it. I will definitely not shed a tear for the Arabs in Gaza just like I wouldn’t have shed a tear for the Germans who suffered in WWII. Because I was too busy shedding tears for my family who were mostly wiped out in the Holocaust.

I am blessed to see some of my Righteous Gentile friends reach out to me and completely understand the situation. They rightly acknowledge that the only solution is for Israel to wipe out Hamas and flatten Gaza. If Israel does not flatten it and remove every last Gazan from there, then this war will repeat itself over and over again. Further, Israel must wipe out all the oil, military and nuclear facilities in Iran for the same reason. Iran is the head of the snake and everyone bloody well knows it. It’s a tragic shame that this austere task will fall on tiny Israel to do.

There are no innocent civilians in Gaza anymore. If there ever was, they have been radicalized by the very Hamas leaders who they voted in decades ago. Any anger felt for their mistreatment must be directed solely at Hamas who love to use them as human shields.

If you don’t stand with Israel 100%, you are on the wrong side of history.

G-d Bless Israel!

This is not the time to disparage Bibi

Everyone in the world has an opinion on the PM of Israel. Some hate him to death. Some love him to death. Some hate him because they view him as a right wing fanatic. Some hate him  because they don't feel he is right wing enough. Of course Israel's enemies hate him. Most US Democrats are not his fans. Many Liberals in my country (Canada) are not in love with him either. A good chunk of Israelis are not his fans. Most are, as they voted for him in a fair, democratic election.

I believe that some on the Left (aka Labour party) in Israel led by real fanatics like Ehud Barak and others suffer from BDS (not the antisemitic BDS movement). More like TDS - Trump Derangement Syndrome but for Bibi. They will do anything to topple him. Barak pushed for a 'bloody' coup numerous times. He got his wish. I do believe that some in the IDF, Mossad and other intelligence agencies and even within Bibi's administration were involved in not passing on the intelligence (on Hamas' plans to attack) up to the chain of Israeli command. I can't think of any possible reason to explain why Israel was not prepared for this.

The entire cabal of Israeli leaders on the Left who threatened Bibi and Israelis who voted for him, have blood on their hands. Barak, Lapid, Gantz, the Israeli Supreme Court, their Attorney General and too many others to mention, warned that that the IDF (both active and reserves) including pilots and others would not serve under the current Likud government. Bibi and most Israelis and even some in the diaspora (like me) didn't believe them. But the world heard their threats.  Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas also heard them and got the message loud and clear.  We all saw widely publicized lists of former IDF generals who signed on to that idea to formally denounce their government and for the first time in Israel's modern history, abandon the defence of their country, despite the oaths they swore to when they enlisted. I do believe that seeing that was the prime motivation by Hamas et al to attack Israel as they did.

Many folks right now are upset at Bibi for inviting these very same people to join his government and make it a 'unity government'. They  call it his biggest policy mistake so far. Maybe it is.

So let me explain. Now is not the time to disparage Bibi. It's pretty simple. Israel is at war. Israelis lives were lost in the most horrific way. If you want Israel to lose, you need not read further and you probably arrived at my website by accident.

So for the rest of you, Bibi (love him or hate him) needs our support. All of it from all of us right now. There is no tomorrow. We can't afford to vacillate, waver, obfuscate or any other -ate. If you you are on the Left but want Israel to survive more than you want Bibi to leave, then listen on. If you are on the Right but you feel that Bibi is partially to blame for this nightmare because he didn't do enough over his tenure to rid Israel and the world of their mortal enemies, read on. Obviously if you adore Bibi, you will read on.

So many headlines begin with disparaging Bibi. In the details, they go on to explain why. By now you should know that sadly most people just stop at the headline. So most folks who are apolitical (that is the majority of the world we live in) and/or who are admittedly ignorant of geopolitics or even history but can't help but know about this war because it's on the MSM 24/7, will make up their minds based on headlines alone. They won't read any of the reasons that you might not like him. Whether he's too far Right or not Right enough. They will stop at the headline. 'Bibi is Losing His Support', 'Is this the end of Bibi?'. 'Bibi Written Off', etc.

We can't afford to alienate anyone right now. We need all the support we can get. We must be united. Blaming Bibi or disparaging him in any way does not help Israel right now. Please save your criticism of him for later. Much later.

My Daughter's Letter to PM Trudeau

Both my daughter and my wife work for the Canadian federal government in different areas.

For years they have been subjected to various Black History events. Lately there have also been numerous Indigenous events being celebrated at their work places as well. There have been many other special commemorative celebrations  for various ethnicities and nationalities at their separate work places.

But not once was there ever a celebration for Israel nor did they celebrate the non-existent 'Jewish History month'. If my wife wanted to get a promotion she'd have to undertake numerous courses on Black History.

Their union contributed to Black Lives Matter. A vile, antisemitic group that even today is proud of what Hamas has done and is doing to innocent Israelis.

Hundreds of Israeli bodies lie strewn on the roads

Work places throughout my country whether they are government or private must acknowledge the vile, Nazi like atrocities that are taking place right now! It's not political. It's should be part of today's dialogue throughout the world. Just like we have in the past when terrible events took place anywhere in the world, like tsunamis or forest fires.

Canada and Japan are the only 2 countries out of the G7 that were not part of a joint statement condemning the Hamas attack on Israel.  The silence here in Canada is deafening. Other than back in April when Trudeau decided to tell PM Netanyahu to be careful how he deals with his Arab population after a raid on a mosque in Jerusalem.

Today my daughter wrote the following letter to our Prime Minister. I think it sends a perfect message.

Hello Mr Justin Trudeau,

I am a federal worker in Toronto. I am also Jewish. I also have several family members in Israel. I cannot express to you how deeply saddened I am from this week’s events. I have many emotions, but I am also trying to work and look after my family while going through this terrible time. Not once have I received any acknowledgement from my coworkers, my management, and my union. I feel alone and on an island. I’m offended and I’m hurt.

This stems from you. You are responsible for taking action to advise your staff how to address this war and each other. If you are too scared to speak up then I ask you to question why that is. If you are scared as to cause any sort of political unrest, then perhaps you are holding some sort of bias against Jews and israel. You should be telling Jewish employees to stay home if they don’t feel safe. You should be asking your staff to look out and report any hate speech or actions. You should be asking people to stand together against hate and condemn the actions taken by Hamas.

Your lack of actions only make me believe  you either do not care or worse you support the inhumane acts that have happened to human life.

I have never felt more unwelcome in this country and my workforce in my entire life.

Can something good come out of my government honouring a nazi?

The speaker of our House of Commons in Canada (a Liberal) invited a Ukrainian nazi to parliament when the PM of Ukraine, Zelensky, was invited to beg us for more money and arms. This 98 year old Ukrainian nazi was given a standing ovation by everyone there! He was called a Ukrainian hero and a Canadian hero. Since then, thanks to organizations like B'nai Brith and the Simon Wiesenthal Center and others, have told our government that the man was a nazi, a fact that he himself is proud of and was not hiding. A fact that would have taken 10 minutes to discover had anyone bothered to try.

This incident created an international debacle and is yet one more mistake that our Trudeau administration is guilty of. Can we fire his ass already? The speaker of the house finally resigned yesterday after admitting his mistake by not vetting this man.

I decided to write a letter to the National Post about this as follows:

Dear Editor,

Besides the resignation of the speaker, hopefully something good will come out of this. It already has. Canadians are learning very quickly that we have a nazi problem in Canada. How bad is it? Well it’s bad enough that a nazi gets honoured in Canada’s parliament and received a standing ovation from everyone there (Liberals and Conservatives) including our PM and Ukraine’s PM. Both of whom are corrupt and dangerously foolish.

But this nazi problem is not new. Many nazis escaped Europe after WWII and snuck into Canada. It wasn’t so hard. After all under Mackenzie King, the credo ‘none is too many’ meaning no Jews allowed even after surviving the worst human Holocaust in recent times, was the feeling held by many Canadians at the time.

As Trudeau might have just learned (his pal Zelensky certainly knows this), not all nazis were German. Certainly not all antisemites were nazis. Ukraine has a very dark history of some of the vilest antisemitism in her short history. I suggest that as punishment for the entire house clapping for this ‘gentleman’ (the term used to describe the Ukrainian Waffen SS nazi by my pathetic Trudeau boot licker MP Ya’ara Saks) must study the historical details of Babi Yar. That illustrious event happened in a  ravine in the center of Kiev where almost 34,000 Jews were shot and killed by Germans and Ukrainians (nazis) in a ravine in just 2 days during WWII. A record for mass murder by gun shots that as far as I’m aware hasn’t since been broken.

My hero Simon Wiesenthal said that he would never step foot in Canada (this was decades ago) because of our refusal to prosecute and extradite or hang all these nazis who moved here illegally back then. I think he wrote that Canada has the highest # of nazis per capita. Today Ukraine has the highest # of nazis per capita. Zelensky has helped to legitimize them in his parliament and in his armed forces yet Trudeau, marching under orders from the WEF, continues to follow his unhinged script that we must continue to send arms and money to Ukraine until Russia loses the war. The trouble is that Russia won’t lose the war and has been winning the war every day since the war began. It’s AOK for Canadians to suffer so that Trudeau gets a pat on the head from George Soros and his vile son.

I’m praying that this Ukrainian nazi be extradited immediately to any country that has the balls to put him on trial and finish him off. I heard that Poland might be interested but I would prefer Israel do it. Poland was just as cursed as Ukraine as far as antisemites and nazi sympathizers go (ask any Holocaust survivor if you can still find one). Should this happen, this would send a message to all the nazis that are still living comfortably in our beautiful country, that it’s not over for them just yet.

Meanwhile I was listening to the Gerry Agar show and was surprised to hear that Gerry wasn’t aware of the statues in Mississauga and in BC, that depict Ukrainian nazis as heroes!  Statues of real Canadian heroes are being torn down, street signs are being renamed all over the place for in many case a negative perception by wokesters, yet the statues of real, easily verifiable nazis remain standing?  Tear them down already!

Don't Fall for Vivek Ramaswamy

Lately this well spoken young man of Indian decent is all over the MSM and is presented as the US’s best option for their next president.

I’ve heard many of my colleagues praise him in depth.

Let me tell you my thoughts.

Vivek reminds me of how they presented Obama early on. As a cool black dude shooting hoops and smoking pot and sold him as a bright young man who can bring the US back on the road to success. If you dug deep into Obama’s background (which wasn’t easy mind you, since he had most of the negatives about him scrubbed off the internet) you would’ve seen many red flags.

The same is true with Vivek. He is presented as a cool, bright, successful brown young man who will get the US back on track and can play tennis with his shirt off. I see him as the same smooth talking snake oil salesman that Obama was. He is a plant from the Left who is being used as both a distraction from Trump as well as a way to siphon off votes away from Trump. His stance on Israel is disturbing. He said that the US should eventually cut off aid to Israel!

I myself have said that I wish the US would stop all aid to the Middle East. None to Israel, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, the Gulf States and all other Arab nations. Israel is more than capable of defending itself as long as her enemies are not being supplied massive amounts of aid (both militarily and monetarily) by the US. But Vivek did not make that his focus.  If he’s so smart, why doesn’t he publicly acknowledge that Israel is the US’s most dependable and important ally? He could have said that the US is suffering economically and needs to draw down on aid to all of its allies but he focused just on Israel.

He lied about accepting a student grant from Soros. He claimed he was poor and needed the money. He was already rich at the time he entered law school. He then scrubbed the internet to remove any connections to the Soros connection. Read more on this here.

He currently defends the unprecedented and illegal attacks on President Trump. But  mark my words. He'll eventually throw Trump under the bus. Much like Obama initially defended Israel, he too threw Israel under the bus and hard!

Don’t fall prey to the uniparty’s snow job on Vivek.

G-d Gave Us a Brain and Heart, Don't Mix Them Up!

The heart is for love and the brain is for thought. Please don't mix them up.

These days I often see that many people are definitely using both organs interchangeably.

Thanks to technology we now have the ability to watch wars in real time. Prior to the war in Vietnam, we were not privy to see and hear exactly how wars played out. We didn't get to see people shot at close range, hear their cries or watch body parts flying into the air after a bomb exploded. As with all tools, technology can be used for good or bad depending on the people using them.

It's very easy to edit videos or photoshop photographs nowadays. In the simplest case one only needs to remove parts of a video to destroy any important context and thusly prove a lie.

We've seen that time and again in Pallywood. That's the Palestinian version of Hollywood whereby they have actors pretending to be injured or dead and blaming the IDF for their fake injuries or deaths. Of course there are always professional photographers at the scene of the crime (how opportune!). They were part of the Pallywood film crew. The PA spends millions of dollars on this. They pay the actors, the film crew, they have expert makeup artists (complete with gallons of fake blood and bandages), etc. They do this because it works.

And why does it work? Because so many of us, are using our hearts to evaluate the facts instead of using our brains. All it takes is a photo of an Arab child lying in a pool of (fake) blood with a (fake) IDF soldier standing over him in full military gear. Of course images like these are designed to pull at our heart strings. Evil people figured this out hundreds of years ago. But now with the advancement of technology and the high speed internet, the Pallywood style news fills the main stream news media faster than a comet.

Along with this are the PR firms and expert advisors to leaders all over the world. They can take a tired, broken, empty fool and make him out to be a courageous leader. They have been doing this with President Biden for a while now. While many of us haven't been fooled, many are and continue to be.

PA leaders like the late Arafat (may his name be forgotten) or their current leader Abbas, are made out to be strong, heroic military leaders with limitless courage. After all, they are forced to stand up to the mighty nazi like IDF with tanks while their forces (often young children) are using only rocks to fend off the bad guys.

Do you remember when the terrorist leader Arafat was invited to speak at the UN? He wore his standard (fake) army uniform complete with a gun holster. I think they made him remove his gun. He accused Israel of harvesting organs from captured arabs and a myriad of other insane lies. He begged the world for money which he mostly pocketed and he pleaded with his Muslim brothers to continue to attack the Jewish state at all costs (even when it meant certain death to young, ignorant, Arab youths). And most of the world applauded him. Again when he finally died, almost every world leader attended his funeral and hailed him as a virtuous leader seeking justice for his people and peace (oy vey!).

Images from many decades prior, of fedayeen (Arab militias) are portrayed as brave soldiers despite them being cowards, shooting innocent Israelis citizens from a distance while the Israelis are working on their fields.

Here's a shot of Arafat doing what he did best: Spread lies. But he looks so respectable though, right? He can't be a bad man because he's even wearing glasses! And he's even wearing a medal of sorts.

Here's a shot of Ukraine's President Zelensky essentially doing exactly what Arafat did and what Abbas is doing now:

Oh my, he looks like a real hero doesn't he? Very down to earth. He could leave Ukraine but no, he risks his life every day to help defend his poor country. And all he wears is the same army T-shirt. What a humble and noble guy.

He and his masters have certainly studied how Pallywood works and he is following exactly in Arafat and Abbas's footsteps. Act and look like a hero. Pretend to care for your people. Beg the world for money.  Make sure to be seen on the MSM whenever and wherever possible. Accuse his enemies of all sorts of lies. Push the world to help him defeat his enemies using guilt. Amass as much wealth as possible and as quickly as he can. Hold his own people hostage to be used as pawns by him and his pals.

I have warned in the past to not be lured in by the MSM, governments or other nefarious organizations or individuals. Use your brains to do your own fact checking instead of looking at an image and reading a bogus headline. The simple fact is that the Left controls the MSM and most governments. So their messaging cannot and must not be trusted. Whether it's the Left in my country, Canada, the US or in Israel or anywhere for that matter.

Recall the al-Dura hoax whereby the Arabs in Gaza claimed that the IDF shot and killed an Arab boy seen with his father in the middle of a shoot out between the IDF and Arab terrorists. Here is the photo that's been seen around the world and is even on stamps and reproduced on murals:

This one image propelled the 2nd intifada in Israel which led to many dying and injured on both sides.

With the proliferation of AI (artificial intelligence), false narratives can be created by keystrokes on a computer. These bogus news stories will and already are, filling the news waves. We must be ever more careful when we read or watch the 'news' as it will become much more difficult to discern fact from fiction. I urge you not to come to quick judgements before assessing all of the facts.

I've seen this happen time and again. People start to read and think for themselves but then they see an image out of context and suddenly they reverse course. It's easy to use your heart to push you in any direction. Then you become a feather in the wind that blows in any direction. Please don't. Use your brain to think and your heart to love.

The Race for the Mayor of Toronto

For my international friends and relatives or anyone unfamiliar with this race, let me start with explaining who's in the race.

There are over 100 candidates running for this super important job,  including a dog.  I doubt that a single Canadian citizen can name you more than 10 candidates. I certainly can not.

Since Toronto is the largest city in Canada and has one of the largest economies of all cities in North America by some standards, the mayor is a very powerful position.

We just had a municipal election last year and John Tory won again. But he didn't come close to lasting his 4 year term this time because of a scandal that was exposed. He had an affair with one of his young female staffers and resigned about 6 months into his term. Personally I don't care too much about that as long as it was truly consensual.  But since he knew he was having that affair while he was running for mayor last year and since he knew that if his secret got out, he would resign, then I feel that he must pay a consequence. Elections cost millions of dollars which he just wasted. In any case I wasn't a fan of his at all. I will never forget what happened under his watch in 2021 when tens of thousands of anti-Israel protesters took over downtown Toronto looking to hurt Jews or any Israel supporter. Despite the covid lockdown (another thing he supported vigorously) he, other political leaders and our MSM kept quiet about it. It remains Toronto's best kept secret. I blogged about it here.  So good riddance Mr. Tory.

According to the polls, Olivia Chow (aka Holy Chow) is the front runner. She is a prominent member of our far left NDP party. She used to be a member of parliament (MP) for that party and then served as a Toronto city councillor. She ran for mayor last time but lost. As you might guess by her name, she is Chinese. Her English sucks. Honestly it hurts my ears to hear her speak.

As a far left leader some of her policies are: less cops, more 'safe' drug sites (these are city run places that offer free drug kits for addicts be it heroin or most other illicit drugs), allow homeless people to take over our streets and parks, tax, tax and more tax, free low income housing and other common woke policies. In other words, if she becomes our mayor, our city which already is in decline will look like San Francisco or Vancouver in no time at all.

Because of her previous positions and her late NDP leader husband, Jack Layton, her name has a strong recognition with the public. That is, most people recognize her name but few know what she stands for.

I don't put much faith in polls anymore. Because they have become political instruments instead of honest tools to monitor the voters. Since the polls have her way ahead of the pack and since the MSM continues to quote the pollsters 24/7 one would think that no one else has a chance so many on the right are apathetic. They won't bother voting. Others on the right will wait until the last minute and vote for the right wing candidate who according to the latest poll is in second place. So rather than voting for the candidate they really want, they will be manipulated to vote for someone else.

I strongly urge you to vote for who you really want. It shouldn't be that complicated.

Anthony Fury

Since I am both opinionated and vociferous, I will provide you with a recommendation. Anthony Fury. He was a journalist. He was never a politician and does not act like one. He lacks the presence of one.  He is soft spoken, calm and makes his policies based on solid right wing, common sense values. Family first, certainly before drug addicts. He has a family and like some of us (me, for example) was born and raised in Toronto and watched it decline. He knows that if holy Chow gets in, it'll be game over. He wants small businesses to succeed in Toronto and knows that if they succeed, it will help turn the city around. As the economy gets better, there will be less homeless, more people will be employed, the city will get safer and cleaner, etc. He is the exact opposite of holy Chow. He wants to hire 500 new police officers and ensure that some will go back to being beat cops. Police who used to walk around the neighbourhoods, especially the dangerous ones.

A dear friend and faithful reader of my blogs suggested that I check him out about a month ago. I watched a video of him being interviewed by one of my Canadian heroes, a brilliant clinical psychologist who made international fame by fighting University of Toronto where he taught when they insisted that the staff use the latest LGTBQ pronouns to address the students or else. His name is Dr. Jordan Peterson and he chose 'or else'. Dr. Peterson endorsed Anthony Fury. I was sold right then. But later I watched a video of Fury talking about the exponential rise of antisemitism in Toronto.  'Why does the Jewish community have to pay millions of dollars a year to protect their synagogues and other Jewish or Israeli events? That's what the police should be doing. ' I had never heard another mayoral candidate ever say anything like that. I don't even recall our large Jewish organizations pushing our mayor to do that. Here's that video clip:  Fury

My daughter and her family (her husband, 18 month old twins and a dog) were on the way up to our cottage last weekend. They were driving along on the highway when some nutcase ran into them causing them to bounce off one guardrail and then another.  It was a miracle that they all survived. The babies are fine. My daughter and her husband have severe neck and back pain plus PTSD and now have to deal with having their car written off plus a million other things. My wife and I help them bathe the children because it's hard for them to bend down and do it. Jamal, the driver along with his other young friends who crashed into my daughter's family claimed that someone ran into him. Thankfully there were many witnesses who watched him drive erratically  and knew he was an accident waiting to happen. In a couple of years when this finally reaches our overburdened court system, he'll get off with a slap in the face.

I blame this on our pathetically incompetent and destructive PM, Trudeau.  He insists on letting in some of the worst human garbage into our beautiful country. His love affair with nefarious Muslims has been clear from day one. He keeps the good ones out though. Thanks to him and other political leaders like him, our big cities, especially Toronto has become a dangerous shit hole. Sorry not sorry for the language.

To be clear, I like immigrants. That's who built this country. Hard working, law abiding immigrants like my Holocaust survivor parents who despite arriving here with just the clothes on their backs, who never took a dime from our government. The crap coming into our country, both legally and illegally scare me and should scare you too.

I begged people to not vote for Trudeau many times. The people did not listen to me. I'm now begging you to vote for Anthony Fury. Or else this city will become even more dangerous.

Of course the odds are against him. The MSM here is almost 100% Left leaning so they despise him and either slanderously attack him whenever possible or ignore him and keep  him out of the debates and the news. Most of the rest of the candidates are busy virtue signalling to get votes. So are the MSM, saying things like 'Toronto will finally have its first female Asian mayor, hooray!" This follows PM Trudeau's meaningless, virtue signalling meme 'Diversity is our strength'. He can't wait to see her get in. Please don't complain to me later, when bad things happen to you or your family. Better yet, vote for him now before it's too late. Thanks for listening.
